Western Colorado
Fire Bug Fire Mitigation and Control reduces your home's wildfire ignition risk by clearing hazardous fuels, sealing vulnerable gaps, and maintaining defensible space in the critical zone around your structure.
Creating Space Around Your Home That is Wildfire-Ready
The area closest to your home is the most critical zone for wildfire protection. We focus on removing dead fuels, overgrown vegetation, and debris in this space, since eliminating what can burn near the structure is the most effective way to reduce ignition risk. The closer to the home, the more thorough the clearing needs to be.

Wildland Firefighters
A properly maintained defensible space may extend up to 300 feet from a structure, with more intensive work concentrated near the home itself. We clear dead trees, brush, and ground fuels within this radius and fell hazard trees away from structures, following the same principles used in wildland firefighting to slow or stop fire spread before it reaches a home.
Defensible Space That Follows the Standard
Beyond vegetation management, we address openings on the home itself, closing gaps and vulnerable points that could allow embers or fire to reach the structure directly. Combined with a cleared defensible space, this gives your home a stronger chance of surviving a wildfire event.
